When NABA began in 1995, one of the major barriers that we identified was the lack of communication between groups. This caused wasting of previous time and duplication of services since people and groups had no idea what each other was doing. We addressed this problem at the national level by developing the National Breastfeeding Leadership Roundtable, which is now the United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC).

We hoped that we could model and help others on a more local basis do the same. Therefore we put together a listing of state members of the membership organizations that belong to the USBC along with all known breastfeeding coalitions, task forces, etc.

Now with our website we have the ability of making it available to you. You are able to search by state and known contacts and coalitions will be listed. Click Here to Search Now.

The major organizations we have received representatives from are:
  La Leche League International (LLLI)
  International Lactation Association (ILCA)
Women Infants and Children Program Breastfeeding Coordinators (WIC)
American Academy of Pediatrics Chapter Presidents (AAP)
Coalitions and task forces that are known to us

Please use this to at least talk or annually meet and share information.

A couple of additional notes about the directory:

  1. AAP requested that we only list the chapter presidents even though they have state level Breastfeeding Coordinators. So you will need to go to the AAP website and contact the local chapter president to obtain this information.
  2. LLLI has listed both their Area Coordinator and Leaders (ACL) and their Area Professional Liaison (APL), who generally deals with outreach and working with other groups.
  3. Please notify us if your group or organizational reps are appropriate for the work we are doing. You will be added.

Also, let us know if your task force and coalition is not listed and we will add you to the directory.
